BEHIND THE LENS

Jennie Araujo began her love for photography in front of the camera at a very young age, but it wasn't until high school when she stepped behind the camera. She was told from the very beginning that she had a natural eye for photography.When it came time for college, Jennie attended Virginia Commonwealth University for a year and a half, but just wasn't satisfied without being totally immersed in photography. She then transferred to The International Academy Of Design and Technology, where she completed her Associates Of Science in Digital Photography. There, she was consumed by photography non stop for a year and a half. Classes ranged from wedding and event photography to commercial photography, fashion photography, Photoshop classes and everything in between.While attending school, Jennie worked the for the Photographer of the Year in the Tampa Bay Area, as his assistant. This proved to be a very valuable experience for Jennie, as it gave her hands on experience at over fifty weddings, as well as business experience, all before she ever left school. Jennie was also very involved the with the local professional photographers association, TAPPA, where she received numerous awards, including Commercial Photograph of the Year for 2007.Jennie now resides in Richmond, Virginia, where she enjoys crafts, the outdoors, and spending time with her family while not shooting weddings.CONTACT

Albert and Ibalu had a beautiful country wedding on Saturday. There were lots of places to shoot and a very photogenic couple! I also got to work with my DJ buddy Jason from Celebrity Radio Djs. It was lots of fun!

Melissa and Robert

I photographed Melissa and Robert's wedding at the Jefferson this past Saturday. It's was beautiful! What an awesome backdrop for pictures!

Amanda and Josh

I spent 8 lovely hours with Amanda and Josh on Saturday at their beautiful Williamsburg wedding. They were such a nice, fun couple! And SO easy to work with. Lots of beautiful images from this one!

I had the pleasure of photographing Robert and Sharon's 40th anniversary vow renewal on Friday afternoon. The ceremony was at the same church they got married at 40 years ago in Hopewell. It was very beautiful and a wonderful experience! This is one awesome family. We has a great dinner at The Boathouse at Sunday Park after.
Crystal's Bridal Shoot

Had Crystal's Bridal shoot Friday morning at a family friend's farm. It was a beautiful morning and produced some beautiful pictures! I can't wait for her September 26th wedding!
