I have a hard time writing about myself.
Mostly because I want to say 84 things at the same time. That’s how my brain works.
I started out in front of the camera, dancing, singing, acting and doing pageants from age 3. I fell in love with photography in high school, when my step dad gave me a 1970′s Nikomat from Vietnam. I took lots of pictures of flowers and lizards. I still take lots of pictures of flowers, but Virginia just doesn’t have as many lizards as Florida, where I grew up.
I went to art school for digital photography. I started out wanting to be a surf photographer, but then realized you have to swim with sharks to do that. Not my thing. So I fell in love with weddings while working for Brian Idocks. He’s a fantastic photographer and an even better friend and mentor.
I’ve slowly expanded my business since starting out in 2007 to include events, family portraits, corporate portraits, babies and boudoir.
My favorites are weddings and boudoir. I’m a hopeless romantic that loves helping people feel good about themselves.
I have a deep passion for helping people, which is why I volunteer my services for great organizations like The Susan G. Koman Race For The Cure, The Pink Tie Gala, Fetch A Cure, The Arthritis Foundation, The YWCA Outstanding Women Awards and several others.
I’m very close to my family- we’re a big crazy bunch that has a great time when we’re together. They’re my rock and my foundation, as well as my biggest fans.
My husband, Tim, is my #1 fan. You’ll find him working at the desk across from me, developing websites, and next to me catching great details when we shoot weddings. I have an adorable toddler bonus son, Lucas. We have a beautiful little girl. There are TONS of pictures of her and I will more than likely show you a lot of them.
I love what I do. I love who I am. I hope we get a chance to meet.
